Introducing Lance Davies
Local Buy has welcomed a new Category Manager for ICT in Lance Davies. Lance joins the team with over 30 years’ experience with both corporate and government organisations in New Zealand. Lance began his career in mainframe computer operations programming, later moving onto application management roles in EDS (now DXC) Unisys and Westpac New Zealand.
In 2004, Lance moved to vendor and contract management roles for a range of contract services including; software licensing, project delivery and managed/outsources service arrangements. He led tender and negotiations for the largest New Zealand government mobility contract for New Zealand Police.
In recent years, Lance has provided consulting services to lead the delivery of a Cloud Security Management Solution CASB, implementation of the Skills for the Information Age (SFIA) framework across a 350-personnel ICT shop and played a leading role in development of future state ICT operating models to support a very large ICT transformation and organisational change program.
While he has spent most of his career in ICT, Lance sees his move to Local Buy as Category Manager, a great opportunity to work with council ICT leaders and procurement teams to develop value for money agreements with ICT and Telecommunications service providers.
He will be responsible for five of the Local Buy contracts:

Lance looks forward to continuing his history of trusted relationships that will enable the establishment of supplier arrangements which support the delivery of solutions and outcomes for the council and state government communities.
