Local Buy is the largest provider of legislatively compliant pre-qualified supplier Arrangements in Queensland and the Northern Territory.
All QLD & NT councils, State Departments and agencies, not-for-profits, charities, educational institutions, port authorities and water boards can access Local Buy.
Local Buy’s Arrangements are considered an LGA Arrangement and are subject to an exception within the Queensland Local Government Regulations 2012 and NT Local Government Regulations 2012.

Local Buy has Tendered so you don’t have to
When Local Government officers buy goods and services on behalf of their council, they need to follow the procurement rules and principles set down in the relevant Local Government Regulation and the Local Government Act.
Local Government Legislation determines the processes which must be undertaken depending on the dollar value of the procurement activity.
Local Buy Arrangements enable buyers to draw from a list of accredited pre-qualified suppliers.
Local Buy has undertaken a full and open market Tender to appoint our pre-qualified suppliers so you do not have duplicate that effort. Local Buy has undertaken the process and due diligence needed for you to be able to run a legislative compliant RFQ process.
We do this by making sure our pre-qualified suppliers are robustly evaluated against a set of criteria, ensuring they have the skills, qualifications and experience to provide quality goods and services to benefit your community.
Most Local Buy Arrangements open for tender every three months in February, May, August, and November. These tenders open at 12:00AM on the first of the month and close at 2:00PM on the last of the month. Local Buy is the first and only organisation to open tenders this frequently.
