Councils must abide by the procurement rules set down in Local Government Legislation which include having to run a lengthy tender process when entering into a large sized contractual Arrangement (Over $200K).
Local Buy’s exception in the Local Government Legislation means that our customers can engage Local Buy suppliers through a quotation rather than a tender process whilst still complying with Local Government Regulations.
By being a pre-qualified supplier on a Local Buy Arrangement, most of the due diligence, compliance and terms and conditions has already been done. This means everyone benefits from a huge reduction in administration and goods and services can be supplied through a streamlined process.

Once you have become a pre-qualified supplier through responding to one (or more) of our Tenders, you will remain as a supplier until the Arrangement expires.
Pre-qualified suppliers are required to pay fees to Local Buy to fund the administration, maintenance and on-going operating costs of our Arrangements.
