Winter is on the way out, and things are heating up at Local Buy
Can you believe August is already over? This means three things:
1. There are only 16 Fridays left until Christmas! (Yes, really. We triple checked. Breathe…).
2. Spring is here, bringing with it longer days and some much-needed warmer weather!
3. And most importantly - we’ve got a fresh round of tenders from August to evaluate!
So grab your coffee and get ready, because this season is shaping up to be an exciting ride!
The August Arrangement Round
On the 1st August we released 48 Arrangements for tender, our biggest release this year! This included three new Arrangements:
- Asset Management Services (LB347),
- Fleet Management Solutions (LB339), and
- Project Management & Superintendent Services (LB343).
We received a fantastic response, with 1007 tenders submitted across the 48 open Arrangements, with the most in demand Arrangement being Project Management Services LB343, attracting 264 tenders and generating 348 downloads, reflecting its relevance and value to our supplier and client networks.
Looking Ahead: What’s Next?
A major milestone has been reached with the LB344 Waste Management & Resource Recovery went live in August - this is a significant step forward in our sustainability and resource recovery efforts.
Coming soon is the Retail Electricity Arrangement, which is currently in preparation and expected to be released soon.
Disaster Management Arrangement
Local Buy is establishing a Preferred Supplier Arrangement (PSA as an LGA Arrangement), to support Queensland and Northern Territory councils and other purchasers with access to a broad range of disaster recovery management services following the declaration of a natural disaster.
This Arrangement (LB505 Disaster Recovery Management) will provide a streamlined framework for the coordination and management of disaster planning, preparation, response and recovery.
This Arrangement has five categories for the co-ordination and management of disaster recovery:
1. Coordination of Counter Disaster Operations
2. Coordination of Emergency Works and Emergency Response
3. Disaster Management Consultancy
4. Disaster Management Program Management
5. Disaster Recovery related Grant Writing
Tender closes on the 29th September 2025 at 2.00pm AEST
September will now see the Local Buy team work collectively to evaluate the August submissions, issue clarifications and support the internal and external evaluators.
Evaluation periods in any procurement activity are where responses from suppliers are assessed to ensure they meet pre-determined criteria and any procurement objectives of an organisation.
Once these evaluations are complete, the team then moves onto preparing the required Evaluation Reports, these seek to summarise the results of the evaluation. Probity Advisors review the findings of the evaluations and ensure that all processes and scoring is objective and fair.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue working hard to deliver real value and meaningful outcomes across our portfolios.
