The Waste Management & Resource Recovery arrangement (LB344) offers Purchasers in Queensland and the Northern Territory a wide range of goods and services. These goods and services are broken down within the following categories:
- General Waste & Resource Recovery: Environmentally responsible collection, transportation, and disposal of general waste and recyclable materials.
- Hazardous/Regulated Waste: Safe handling and disposal of hazardous and regulated waste, adhering to all relevant regulations.
- Liquid Waste: Specialized treatment and disposal of liquid waste through advanced methods.
- Organic Waste: Processing of organic waste to promote composting and other sustainable practices.
- Construction/Demolition Waste: Recycling and reuse of construction and demolition materials.
- Medical/Clinical Waste: Safe disposal of medical and clinical waste to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health standards.
- E-Waste: Secure and environmentally friendly disposal of electronic devices.
- Secure Waste: Secure destruction of confidential documents to protect sensitive information.
- Management of Operational Landfills: Overseeing daily operations of landfills to ensure compliance and minimize environmental impact.
The intent of this LGA Arrangement is to provide councils and other purchasers in Queensland and the Northern Territory with continued easy access to goods or associated services by providing effective and streamlined procurement processes.
Purchasers will have an optimal choice of service providers who have a strong regional presence, thereby promoting the development of competitive local business and industry, whilst providing commercially robust rates and terms and conditions of contract.
