The Tyrepower Group was formed in 1977 by ten independent tyre retailers to offer consumers flexibility, savings and maintain the value of an independent dealer. The network is now the largest independent retailer in Australasia with over 320 retailers.

Tyrepower’s relationship with Local Government stems back to the dawn of our existence, however in 2012 with a growing network and increased demand for consistent national and state based relationships, Tyrepower Ltd was formed by the Tyrepower network and we became a Local Buy pre-qualified supplier.

Local Government entities must procure in adherence to Local Government Regulations and the Local Government Act. Thus, ensuring that councils achieve value for money when using Local Buy Arrangements to purchase goods, or services.

We understand the administration required for a council to create its own procurement contract, and the time required to respond to this by a singular store can be better managed using the LB317 Arrangement. As an appointed supplier on LB317, we respond on behalf of Tyrepower as a whole. This has the added benefit of consistent pricing, streamlined processes and alignment to corporate governance.

Every job secured through Tyrepower Ltd, by a Tyrepower store for a Local Government customer is through Local Buy LB317 Tyres, Wheels and Associated Services Arrangement.

Tyrepower operates across a number of states in Australia including Victoria (MAV), Tasmania (LGAT), Northern Territory (LGANT) and Queensland (Local Buy).

Feedback from councils reiterates that our service speaks highly in the world of tyres, and that a disabled fleet vehicle will create lost time at the cold face of local government. We understand that a solid working relationship between the council and supplier is paramount.

We embraced the opportunity to exhibit at the LGAQ conference in October 2024. Tyrepower prides itself on local support for local communities, be it through sport or not-for-profit. This gave us the opportunity at the LGAQ conference to gain the support of of Alphie Langa and Jack L’Brocq at our trade stand to help us judge the finals in the ‘pass the ball through the tyre competition.

Business relationships remain as important in business as they do in life, so having the opportunity to engage with the councils that work with us and share positive moments, such as the recent LGAQ conference, can’t be underestimated.

On behalf of Tyrepower, we would like to thank you for your ongoing support.
