Arrangement Update - May 2025
By Isobel Czislowski, Category Officer
The month of May started with a bang, with the release of our second round of open Arrangements for 2025. In this encore to the massive February round, we had 37 tenders out for applications, including 2 new Arrangements. The first new Arrangement is the highly anticipated Waste Management and Resource Recovery (LB344), which seeks to cater to all-things waste, recycling and management of waste facilities. The second is what is surely will be a very popular Arrangement with our purchasers, Heavy and Light Plant Machinery (LB345), which offers items like whipper snippers to backhoes and everything -in-between.
The preparation required to release the tenders every quarter is a testament to the Contract Administration and Local Buy Marketing team. Before the first of the month, the Contract Administration team create, review and post each tender in Apet360 individually and build new tenders for new Arrangements where required. From here, links to the new tenders are shared across to the Marketing and Engagement team to be included in all relevant social media and online marketing platforms. The links and marketing material also gets sent further afield to the other local government organisations that participate in selected Local Buy Arrangements.
Once the tenders open, the Contracts Administration team assists with enquiries and technical support for suppliers completing their application. This can include retrieving Supplier Verification Certificate numbers, answering questions around which Arrangement might be right for their business and how to send enquiries about the tender content in the correct and transparent manner. The Marketing team also continues their good work, promoting and updating the website and social media platforms to keep our suppliers in the loop.
They say, “teamwork makes the dream work” and that has never been truer than in Local Buy. Each section works and depends on each other in symbiosis to deliver our Arrangements. Sprinkle this internal synergy with excellent customer service and a passion for procurement, and this is the Local Buy team that are not only delivering the quarterly Arrangements program but also advancing Queensland procurement.
